Yesterday,Facebook Messenger for Android to got updated. Besides some minor improvements and bug fixes the messenger comes in a completely new look.
The new design is bright and fresh with white background and shallow icons. The first impression is reminiscent of the current version of Skype . The new interface not only looks tidy, but the operation is even easier: Use the three tabs at the top of the screen or swipe to the left to switch between your conversations, contacts and settings.
The pictures of your contacts are now displayed around (as it was also introduced in Skype with the latest updates). Contacts who do not use the Facebook Messenger can be sent SMS directly from the application. So Facebook Android app is a further step towards a universal Messenger.
The new version of Facebook Messenger is available for selected users only. When the features are rolled out globally any user can install the app.
